We're often left with the choice between what's "good" and "good for you." Sometimes you get one or the other, and once in a while there comes a product that gives you both. Paxley eyewear was born from the quest for safe, health conscious, and chic eyewear designed just for little ones. Our extensive research and engineering of age-appropriate dimensions, dedication to sourcing the most quality, child-safe materials, and commitment to cuteness shines through each and every pair.
Finding the right pair of eyewear for little ones can be tricky. The choices that are available out there rarely put emphasis on fit and safety, let alone style. We’ve taken the hard part out of the process through extensive research and testing to engineer the perfect fit specifically for children. Once the fit is right, comfort and style fall right into place. If sunglasses fit well then children are more likely to wear them and protect their delicate eyes.

Though it may seem like babies’ faces come in one universal shape—cute—they’re not all the same. Paxleys are designed to accommodate different face shapes that not only accentuate cuteness, but gently protect all the right areas. Infants and children in sunglasses look downright adorable, but that doesn't mean they're always comfortable. In most cases, what fits a 3-year old isn't likely to fit a 1-year old. Size plays a major role in comfort, and when kids are comfortable, they're more likely to want to wear sunglasses and keep them on. With three different size options, Paxley eyewear is designed to fit each unique head better.
Measurements for each shape at each range are to be found below. The size information is a set of three numbers that are measurements in millimeters. For example, 44-16-118. The first number (44) is the horizontal width of one lens. The second number (16) is the distance between lenses, and the third number (118) is the length of one of the temples.

There's so much more to infants' and childrens' eyewear than style, and what's often overlooked is the health aspect. Whether it’s for sun or for optical, the right pair of eyewear should be designed with both health and style in mind. With Paxleys, it's possible to have both.
By the time you start protecting your eyes as an adult, it’s too late. Expert research shows that the majority of lifetime UV exposure has already occurred during childhood. While adults are advised to protect their eyes, it's even more crucial for children. Their developing eyes aren't able to filter out UV rays as easily, and this can cause retinal harm over time, which can lead to cataracts and macular degeneration. Thank goodness Paxley eyewear comes with UV400-level lens protection that meets the international optical industry standards.
The skin around the eyes is one of the most delicate areas of the body, and even more so with infants and young children. Without protection in the form of truly protective sunscreens and eyewear, the sun's harmful rays can cause premature aging symptoms over time, leading to wrinkles, discolorations and even cancers. With ample eye protection, these potential issues can be reduced.
With so much choice in infants' and childrens' products, you'd think it'd be easier to find those that are truly safe for little ones. What claims to be safe is often questionable. We go above and beyond to create the safest, most kid-friendly frames. There's no doubt that Paxley eyewear is designed with safety-conscious features and materials that provide maximum protection, and our eyewear proudly sports certification from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in the United States and the CE certification from the European Union.
High Quality Frames
Quality begins with materials. Paxleys are handcrafted in Italy out of state-of-the-art baby-safe materials that comply with worldwide regulations for BPA (bisphenol-A), lead and other materials. Paxleys are lightweight yet durable and hypoallergenic, making them gentle on infants' and childrens' delicate faces.
Ultra Protective Lenses
Prolonged and unprotected sun exposure can lead to serious UV damage not just into adulthood, but at a young age. That's why it's so important to wear high quality sunglasses with 100% UV protection. Paxleys feature impact and shatter-resistant lenses that provide 100% UVA and UVB protection at the UV400 level. We've taken great measures to ensure Paxleys meet the US safety standard ANSI Z80.3-2009, the British and European safety standard label BS EN 1836:2005/A1:2007, and also the strictest of them all: the Australian standard AS/NZ 1067:2003. In addition, our lenses are classified as Category 3, which provides a higher level of UV and sun glare protection. Our lenses are also gray, which offers the least color distortion for young eye development.
Each frame is designed with a unique, patent-pending SafeBend that won’t pinch small hands or catch on clothing. This hinge has a flex ratio of nearly 180 degrees to provide comfortable tension against the head and are resistant against snapping when pulled apart.
Ergonomic Rubber Nosepads
Extended pads that gently rest on flatter, growing bridges without the frames overwhelming or pressing on the nose and cheeks.
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Certification
Paxleys are certified by the CPSC for compliance with the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvements Act 2008) for children's product safety rules.
Conforming European (CE) Safety Product Certification
Paxleys have the CE marking, certifying that the eyewear has met the European Union consumer safety, health or environmental requirements.
